It’s fine to criticize Smoltz as a broadcaster, but you can’t hold him to the same standards as an actual journalist or beat writer. Smoltz is a guy who just drops in once a week to talk about a baseball game, it’s not as if he’s a member of the permanent press.

I’m a Pats fan. I’ve been to games at Buffalo and at the Jets and had fun times at both. You just have to be in control of yourself. If you drink, keep it controlled. If people yell stuff, ignore them, or laugh and diffuse the situation that way. If someone is really belligerent get security or leave the area. 

The 2nd place guy who got dethroned seemed genuinely happy for the new winner, too. Not something you see often.
