I have to disagree here. In Daggerfall, you could visit the entire continent. Morrowind looked nothing like it did in ES:3. Balmora had pine trees for christ sakes. Only the basic topography was similar. While the first two games are important lore-wise, they basically have no relationship with the actual visual world…

If ES:VI is 2017, it'll be like January or February at the latest. Morrowind to Oblivion had a four year dev cycle and Oblivion to Skyrim had 5. Considering the success they've had, I doubt they'll want to wait too long.

I think that Boogie2988 (aka the guy who does the Francis videos) nailed it. This game was in development for a long, long time and Ubisoft way overshot the capabilities of the "Next Gen" consoles.

I think Jojen's death is a way of keeping a balance of characters - as some die or fall out of focus, others step in to replace them.
