I feel like this comes down to internal consistency for me. If you're talking about something that I'm familiar with in the real world, and your setting is supposed to be this real world, it is very jarring to just have it be different/wrong unless there's a good explanation for it.

I really don't understand the negative stigma associated with these things. I don't own a Fleshlight myself but am not really opposed to acquiring one should the need arise.
