It has a Chrysler engine with a Garrett turbocharger, if that sticker on the headlight door is right, it’s a VNT (as in Variable Nozzle Turbine) car too........If I had the money and the space for it, I’d be calling him right now, that would be a rare car!

It’s not a Mitsubishi engine

The 2.2L was a Chrysler. The Mitsu was a 2.6L .

Even if this is fair to the market, I’m calling it CP. The market is CP.

My 14 year old Tacoma is flawless other than the odd creak here and there. Oh, and I can actually use it for truck things, which I do weekly.

Despite not offering a V8 in 1974 (only year that happened IIRC?), Ford sold nearly 400,000 Mustangs that year, making it the second highest year of sales (still to this day) since the debut of the Mustang.

The advertising tagline at the 1974 launch was “the right car at the right time”. It wasn’t wrong; getting substantially smaller and lighter just in time for the first big gas crisis was a huge sales win for Ford.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Something Different = Not Mopar. Hows a nice 2004 4Runner 4x4 4.7l V8 with Leather for $2900 before negotiating: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/765490523/overview/

You might have to drive all the way to the NYC Jalopnik office almost for it though lol. But here’s your

Under the hood, I’d like to see some big motors.

1960 F-100. Damn straight it’s still cool.

I mean, I love my Miata, but even I won't put it in the same vein an a s2k or 911.

I have a strange affinity for these

An ‘83 Cutlass Supreme was the first car I ever bought. I paid $500 in 2007. It was an old lady’s grocery getter and only had 29,000 miles on it. The car was clean, well taken care of, and was the most comfortable car I’ve ever been in. It drove rather inoffensively as well. That said, $500 was a perfect amount to pay

I had a 1983 Olds Cutlass T-Top with the Hurst/Olds package. Loved that car.. but I’d never buy this. I do not think it’d keep you dry in anything but a mist. The T-Tops typically didn’t in heavy rain.  Car was really fun, though.  It just felt right.

David’s articles are one of the only ones that don't sound like they're written by some pompous asshole. I'll read every one no matter what they're about.

Well thats not too fair. I bet readership is significantly higher on Tracy’s updates than most other writers. I always read his whole articles, not just skim them. They should really just let him write about his projects and not make him take turns writing NPOCP or The Morning Shift.

I was the opposite. I collected several muscle cars over the years but was just never a ‘Vette guy. Didn’t hate ‘em, they just didn’t trip my trigger.
