Of course the Polish computer would be a typewriter strapped to a desk with some blinking lights.

While I remember the 30th anniversary, and have watched TNG almost my whole life, I was just a little too young to remember the 25th anniversary (let alone the original series). I do remember this game, though. My aunt and uncle had it, and, as a child, whenever we went to Toronto to visit, I would be going to play

Star Trek IV...

No, but it does make you English [speaking].

Well, we call Arabs "Arabs" because they speak Arabic, not because they are from some sort of nation of "Arabia" (which is why Iranians aren't Arabs), so wouldn't these Norwegians (by nationality or ethnicity or birth or background or whatever) also be Swedes (by language)?

Don't need a telescope if I can just slingshot around the sun.

I don't think I have a 2010 calendar anymore... so... can't really mark down November 13th.

This just in: Apple is suing Pac-Man.

People have "guest bathrooms"? I'm not trying to start a "burn the bourgeoisie" rallying call here, but really? Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with having more than one bathroom in a house, depending on the number of floors and number of inhabitants (particularly the number of women), it can be essential.

Sometimes I wonder what exactly "the cloud" is... because if it is what I think it is, I do virtually nothing on "the cloud" and I don't know anyone who does anything on the cloud, so... I'm not one to disagree with Google, but....

This is the first time I've heard of the Kinect being used for something interesting and compelling (well, that's not true, there was something about its use in surgery or something... but I had to take the opportunity to insult it, I'm still pissed over that Star Wars thing... not that I can really remember what that

I feel like these guys are doing it for free...

It's pretty sad when a bunch of teens do a better job of holding to police to account than the government bodies design to do that do... (Note that 'accountability' is hardly 'justice', but I'll take accountability over nothing any day.)

Why is a kid from Scotland and/or Lincolnshire being arrested by London police?

Ahem, that's McMaster University... in Canada!!

But it was on the main page!! I can't avoid that!

"Most of all, Iron Man resists the temptation to throw in a ton of elements that the (relatively few) fans of the comic book would want to see. There's no Mandarin, although we get an oblique reference to the Ten Rings to keep fans happy. S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers are carefully kept to an after-credits sequence.

I would call "we got our favorite vampire back" an unfair spoiler to post on the main page... but considering how long we've waited to have Eric back (it is Eric, right?) and how incredibly awesome it would be to have Eric back, I don't mind having that be spoiled. I can't wait for all the badassery.

I absolutely loved this show. I thought it was one of the most interesting, exciting, compelling things any sci-fi series has ever done when they changed the show from a crew on a ship travelling in space to a crew on a ship crash landed on a planet. I mean, how many other shows have changed setting and premise that

I don't think we ever call it Upper Canada and Lower Canada... we do call Ontario and Quebec that, in a historical sense... but in any case, that line's too far south to be the dividing line between the provinces and territories.
