Give me a break.... Nico made his move to the right before Lewis and instead of Lewis cutting back left, he continued with a ballsy, low percentage move and in turn took out both cars
Lewis threw a major block into 1, and Nico did the same into 3. He never left ample room, that was just a product of his line (proper racing line) vs Rosberg’s outside line.
The move to the right happened before this. Not after.
Please.... How many times has Lewis made passes on Rosberg and left him minimal room or almost driven him off track/cut him off. Lewis can’t just take all the time.
He began his defensive maneuver before Lewis regardless whether Lewis was faster or not. Lewis, as the passing car needs to make the clean pass. That’s his responsibility. It was an overly optimistic and aggressive move for turn 3 on lap 1
That was straight from Ford.
Eh this is what happens when you type a reply on a phone that likes to autocorrect
There were a lot of families there with young kids, so I would not be surprised if they dipped before the checkered flag. It wasn’t a full crowd but it was a healthy crowd.
Not all racing is Champaign and caviar where drivers just follow the leader and the only passing happens due to pit strategy. This sport was bred on door to door racing and the bump and run being an accepted method of passing. He didn’t wreck him, just moved him. You don’t have to like it but that’s how it works over…
^100x this
When Carl made that move, the everybody at the track went nuts! I had seats right there in turn 4 to witness it. It was fucking awesome!!!!
yeah, that’s half the battle.
Cutting down to 40 really didn’t put anyone out of work. MWR was shutting down before that decision was made and they only had about 38 teams that were fully dedicated to run full time.
Well, when it’s in the rule book that the minimum action is a warning, there isn’t much to argue except that the rule is poorly written and if they wanted to go the route of no warnings then it should have been written so the minimum would have been a drive-thru for cutting pit exit
It does. There are tracks where the the teams start the tire pressures so low, the tires are almost flat. That’s why Goodyear has minimum pressure recommendations to prevent damage to the tire sidewalls that inevitability end in a failure. The other part of it are the brake and suspension setups that lead to increased…
When it’s limited to a few teams it’s a setup issue and not a tire issue. Goodyear makes recommendations on minimum pressures and cambers and teams like to ignore those and then blame Goodyear for failures. Only cars to have tires issues all race were the 3 JGR cars. Hamlin’s was likely caused by the front end damage…
You couldn’t be more wrong. The 4 took a racing line and the 912 wasn’t even going to make the corner at that angle. It was a stupid move because that is not a corner you even think of attempting a pass. You can even see the 911 take the same line as the 4. That was 100% the 912s fault for making such a stupid move.
He made a stupid move then locked up the brakes.
No that is one turn you don’t try to get the inside line. It was a stupid move.
