I wouldn’t use that analogy, but I’m pretty sure that’s how they see the situation, in their minds.  They have a persecution complex, everyone is out to kill them and the enemy could be anyone, anywhere.  At least, that’s how it seems.

It’s widely known by multiple generations as one of the worst wars we dealt with (ignoring WWII which is starting to fade in memory for younger generations) and there’s been a ton of movies depicting it so many people can identify/recognize that analogy. Iraq doesn’t quite work in making my point.

Maybe not 15 spots, but I agree that they cause a lot of injuries through irresponsible actions on their part.  I still laugh about the one cop that was a gun safety instructor, shooting himself in a school.  WTF?  How can you be that incompetent?

Even the movie accepted it was a long arduous process.  I think there’s a reason you only saw it transform, once.

I will admit I saw a damned brave act where two cops in a cruiser, parked across the interstate to stop a drunk driver headed the wrong way down the road, and took a head-on 80 mph hit from him to stop him (glancing, but still, DAMN!). That takes guts, no lie.
