I think he doesn’t understand what privilege means. Those scenarios are either: poor judgement (spending money you don’t have on shit you don’t need), poor luck (having had money and then losing it for some unforeseen reason, like a pandemic), or his poor understanding on how most actual terms of employment work…

He has his moments. I really enjoyed Ricky Bobby, and Talladega Nights in general. He was decent in The Other Guys. He was superb in Stranger Than Fiction and his voice acting isn’t bad at all. But most of his stuff, I’m just, “meh”. So I get your sentiment, but at the same time he’s had some stand out moments.
