Alfa had already told Brundle no. F1 and the teams clearly love having the celebs on the grid, given how it raises the profile and "cool factor" of the sport.  More attention, more viewers, more sponsorship dollars.  The teams and Liberty basically have the mantra "don't be Bernie."

Criticizing marketing/PR weenies” of a sport where every flat surface is covered with sponsorship logos is a bit much.

An expectation to not be approached or spoken to or asked for an interview is not a realistic expectation in that particular venue”

The expectation is that if you walk the red carpet or show up on the grid, you are fair game to be asked for a quick, meaningless interview.”

The flip side is that these celebrities often get expanded access, free tickets, and other perks to show up to the race, with some minor expectation that they’ll be thrown in front of cameras and likely have a microphone shoved in their face and asked some questions.”

Funny, the people whose opinions actually matter (FWONA, the FIA, the teams, etc.) disagree with you.

She “owes” Brundle, the fans, etc., absolutely NOTHING. Alfa gave her the pass, so there might be an argument that she owes Alfa. Alfa told Brundle no.

If you say it has 10000mi but really has 10001mi, that’s technically a material omission. If you say no accidents but in fact does, that’s a material omission.”

I’ve never seen a dealer that would let me take the car to a shop and have it looked over.”

Agree 100%

If they’re in different movies, I agree with you.  In the same movie, though, casting a non-white Peter Parker would obfuscate the contrast between Parker and Morales.

This is exactly it: blind casting makes sense except in cases where the characters race/ethnicity is important to the story. It doesn’t matter what race Macbeth is, but it would make no sense to have a white Othello.

That’s a necessary step toward firing someone, when that someone is a public employee.

Wait - all of these are perfectly reasonable responses to the question asked.  Are you guys OK?

They’d certainly LIKE to have a more robust fall schedule, but prime-time programming is less and less important to the broadcast networks - they really only exist at this point because of sports and (to a lesser extent) news.

Beaver seems to be being extraordinarily reasonable about this.

Investigators have many questions about how far international drug trafficking has infiltrated Bolivia’s law enforcement agencies and state-owned airline.

There’s a big difference between “this is a miserable place to work because the boss is a control freak/general ahole” and “this workplace discriminates on the basis of race/gender.”  This article muddles the two, and it shouldn’t.

The AI point was probably a pretty easy “give” for the studios in regards to directors, since the opportunity there is a lot smaller than with writers.
