There’s definitely US-only sales data by model for GM, see here for an example:
Adaptive cruise is wonderful in super-heavy traffic and on two-lane roads.
This whole story means one of two things must be true:
Agreed! If someone doesn’t WANT to use anything but forward/back and recline/upright, they don’t have to, but why object to having more options?
Could have been worse - an Air New Zealand flight last month was about halfway through a 16 hour flight from Auckland to JFK when JFK Terminal 1 shut down due to an electrical problem. Apparently, rerouting to another US airport would have screwed up future scheduling, so they elected to turn around. A 16 hour flight…
Outside of GI Joe, no.
So, if a car has a $40k MSRP, and is selling for $42k, that’s a bad deal, but if the MSRP is raised to $50k, and it starts selling for $43k, that’s a better deal?
Fundamentally, using “% over MSRP” as a proxy for “worst deal” is silly. If Nissan raised the Altima MSRP to $200k, and then started selling them for 75% off MSRP, would that make a $50k Altima somehow a “good deal”?
Same here. I set the climate control target temperature when I first bought the car, and haven’t touched it since.
I can never remember which side of the car my fuel filler is on, but there’s a wonderful trick - there’s a little arrow next to the gas pump icon on the fuel gauge that points to the fuel door side of the car.
Same car, similar complaint. I use Android auto, which is great. Why, though, is half the screen taken up with bars showing me the built-in functions I’m NOT using, rather than having the full screen showing me Android auto in portrait mode???
Except when a cyclists breaks traffic laws, the person most put at risk is themselves. The number of pedestrians or motorists killed by cyclists each year is minimal - the vast, vast majority of pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists killed in crashes each year are killed by motor vehicles.
The purpose of parking meters is to ensure that individuals don’t get to make use of a limited public resource for free.
Hey, I’m totally fine with charging cyclists for use of roads, so long as (a) road taxes (gas taxes and registration fees) cover all the cost of roads (rather than the less than half they do today) and (b) the fees/taxes charged are proportional to the cost imposed.
Putting in meters would resolve that problem.
I’ve owned a street parked car in multiple cities. For residential parking permits, they’re usually not free, but typically notably underpriced.
The USSR didn’t exactly cover itself in glory in the pre-war period. Molotov-Ribbentrop ring a bell? Also, calling Stalin’s regime evil doesn’t require scare quotes.
I suppose the area could have 24 hour metered parking, although it seems unlikely. Even if it did, if it’s all parked up, that means the meter rates are too low.
You mean the city made it tougher for you to store your private property on the street for free?
