Yes and no, in most cases it doesn't matter much; but on particularly difficult enemies, having a high enough defense can mean dying or hanging on just enough to heal up and get back in.

I miss the days of E3. The rumors, anticipation, reveals, the reactions, the discussions; instead of the announcements coming who-knows-when with no fanfare throughout the year. I like bonanza, the excitement, and the pomp and circumstance.

It was my understanding that Soulsborne games were pretty much Beserk fan games. The appearance of Bliaad makes it overtly obvious.

Any Soulsborne vet will tell you that dogs are some of the most dangerous enemies you will encounter, thier rapid attacks and movement whittle your stamina, poise, and health in surprisingly short order.
