The sad truth is that almost anything GM does, they find a way to fuck it up. They pull defeat from the jaws of certain victory, and will stop at nothing to ensure that the detractors are always right about them.

Nice car, but they’re asking too much.  For that much money, I’d want it to be a loaded LHS with leather seats.

I remember when those things came out. After the box-mobiles that preceeded them, the cab-forwards looked like space ships. Even in the ritzy neighborhood near me, where people usually drove BMWs or those cars named after you, a bunch of ‘em got Intrepids and Concordes. There was just nothing else on the road that

As someone who makes the right-turn-on-red onto a 55MPH hwy on which people routinely drive 70, as Jose described, a 10 sec 0-60 is unacceptable. As we’ve been seeing, the electrification of cars is reducing avg 0-60 times. Even 8 sec 0-60 is getting uncompetitive. Personally, I don’t want to be the one holding up a

I love cars. I love all cars. I love my gas cars. I’m all for this ban and look forward to other states following this pattern because I love my kids more than I love my cars. Seeing the affects of climate change over nearly 50 years of life makes we worry about the world that my kids will live in when they have been

It’s not a matter of it being fast rather than fast enough. Not every car needs to toss you into the back seat when you hit the gas, but it does need to be able to get up to speed in a reasonable amount of time when doing things like merging onto an interstate.

This trend of offering cars in no colors that aren’t grayscale needs to stop.

Enhance.

Most carbon taxes are regressive. A person driving a $100k Tesla shouldn’t be paying no carbon tax while a single parent who can only afford a used ICE car has to pay more at the pump. In Ontario right now, gas is about CAD $1.40 /L (approx USD $4.20/gallon), a huge chunk of which is a carbon tax. That is penalizing

It’s just what happens to us old white guys unless we’re fitness buffs. I’m starting to look like a thumb myself. A few of us aren’t assholes.

I’m an old guy who grew up when open homophobia was not just the norm, it was literally considered a moral imperative. To be called “gay” or “fag” were among the worst insults.

“.................... the only thing that ruins it for me is the range....... “

My current theory is the older you get the more attractive Porsches become. Like the better they look. In my 20s I couldn’t understand why anyone would buy a new 911. Now I’m like...ooh, that’s nice.

Here. I’ll help everyone out....because I love you

I largely agree, but I think there could be a place for a 100 mile range car. The bigger issue I see is that it’s a 100 mile range car in the mid-$30's. You might be able to convince some buyers that a 100-mile car is a perfect daily/second vehicle, but not at that price. That’s a low-$20's proposition.

They’re both Japanese sports coupes at a relatively affordable price-point that are fun to drive and lean heavily into the spirit of Gran Turismo, Wangan Midnight, and Initial D. I don’t see how they won’t be cross-shopped.

This. For my current car I cross-shopped a Giulia, a 1-Series / 2-Series and a GT86.

Exactly. I never put anything down until I have driven it. Sometimes you can find gems in cars you didn’t expect much from them (and of course, also the opposite).

Are corporations (e.g Stellantis) good?

It pretty much has to be on both sides or what is the point.
