I’m not disappointed about the lack of turbo, fixing the torque dip seems to alleviate much of the power issues. I’m more upset with the lack of a rear hatchback and some T-tops.

The thing is, to continue you metaphor, for Apollo NASA had to invent the wheel, and then hand carve each one. What they want from this contract is to be able to just buy a wheel, for less than it cost them to build it themselves.
Wonder if the cluster itself (behind the tinted cover) is modular and that particular module could be used in other builds?
1st Gear: I really genuinely think the worst consequence of climate change is our rapidly changing weather patterns. In the midwestern city I live in, we don’t really have spring or fall anymore, just extended summer and winter with very brief respites. Winter is way more mild, summer is way hotter, and we have much mo…
In the hinterlands of Michigan, the Ford dealer on the edge of my hometown, during normal times, has 50-75 vehicles on their lot. On the 4th of July weekend, they had 1. Literally one vehicle, a lonely low-spec Escape.
The ability to open/close the top at neighborhood driving speeds alone is worth having a power top.
Have you considered there’s a labor shortage because 600,000 people died, and not because people “don’t want to work”? I’m so god damn tired of this uninformed, bullshit opinion.
Hey, remember when all those Democrats who voted for Hillary Clinton stormed the Capitol, threatening to murder the Vice President of their own party, as well as members of Congress? No? Shut the fuck up with your false equivalency.
If you think that’s a nice car, the Mazda 929 was Japanese balling when it came out. Somewhere between the Millenia and a Lexus LS, it was absolutely gorgeous. I had a colleague in the early 2000's that owned one and it was pretty nice all things considered.
I recall when these hit the market. They were the putative replacement for the 929, but were smaller, and not particularly nicer. The JDM version had lots of techno-wizardy including automatic suspension bits that never made it to NA.
My thoughts about Millenias (Millenia?): the restyle shown here made it look even more like a 626 and the previous design was more attractive. My family had a ‘98 and it didn’t even have the interesting engine, just the 2.5 v6 from the 626/Probe/mx-6 etc, and we still loved it. It was a 2 year lease at an eye-popping…
I will give the 70s malaise cars credit on one point, they actually had color back then. Watch any old TV show from late 70s - early 80s and the streets are vibrant with cars, unlike today’s landscape of mostly black/grey/silver/white.
The best part about the Escalade is that they haven’t changed the name/naming convention 400 times in the last 25 years.
I mean, it’s better than losing your non-digital wallet that has no features to help you locate it or keep it secure from other people accessing your money/data.
I know I only turn 40 this year, but I suddenly feel old because...I kinda dig it. It’s elegant.
When you look at the types of people fear mongering about it, then the picture comes in to focus.
“Looking at the cutaway of the car, I am a disappointed that BMW didn’t seem to be willing to be bothered to package the components to allow for a frunk, which many of its competitors managed to do. These frunkless EVs feel a bit lazy, packaging-wise, to me.”
China’s ability to play the long game is unmatched.
If they weren’t meant to cook kebabs, they shouldn’t have put ‘Lamb’ right there in the name.
I installed a urinal next to the mail slot.
