Hell yes, and I had been counting the days since I was like 11.

He was basically a turnaround CEO; there didn’t seem to be much in the way of auto-specific elements to his strategy. “Cut costs and don’t invest in new products for the foreesable future” is about as fundamental as it gets, in any industry.

The 540i with the twin turbo 6 cyl, starts at $59k or thereabouts. I think leather seats is standard.

Let’s keep making what people are actually buying?

Hmm. Having just bought a new BMW, i’d strongly disagree. I could care less about the badge, they just happen to build the car I want....with the engine/transmission combo I want.

You had me till the last sentence, and then you failed big time. BMW owners don’t care what’s under the hood as long as it has the badge? Implying that BMW owners neither care about the dynamics of the car or the environment is a lazy stereotypical response I’ve come to expect from the writing on this site.

Many buyers don’t know, but Honda’s are not as great as they use to be. They are way lower in the JD Power list than, for example, Chevrolet. I know some of my friends are not that happy with them. I’ve road in one of them and they are noisy inside. Folks, do your homework before buying! Things changes with time.

If I close my eyes I can still remember the engine vibrations coming through the steering wheel, the torque steer, and even the no-base sound coming through the stereo of my 1985 Ford Escort as it played De La Soul’s debut album. These era Fords were actually pretty good cars for the money, with much more

wow, I had no idea an AWD variant was available for the Tempo. and this thing is in great shape!

Don’t lump Porsche in with the rest of the german non-sense, they are one of the few that buck the trend on reliability.

I’ve been incredibly happy with my ‘18 Elantra, and when we can afford something bigger I’ll be looking again at Hyundai a lot more than I would have before.  It was the first new car my wife and I had ever bought and it was $14k new with 40 mpg and a 100k warranty.

I, too, found this documentary to be confusing.
