They would make less money with all those intrusive safety regulations and workers rights.

I hope she gets lots of acting roles that are not just for Indigenous roles.
I good way to keep showing her love is to keep considering her for movies. A lot of really talented people get attention during awards season and just disappear from the biz shortly thereafter. Gladstone was really great in that movie. Hope she gets more chances to continue to build her career.
What’s a Bromwell?
Yes, I want a 2 door mini pickup with an 8ft box.
Emma Stone? Ono!
Right? She’s trying to get some more of that I Will Always Love You money. No shade from me--I love that for her and she does good things with her money so I’m all for her making more of it by whatever means.
Dolly is gonna be able to buy a helluva lot more books for kids from the royalties if Beyonce covers Jolene
Between the two films, both are great performances. But Stone dominates her film utterly WITH that great performance. It is not that much of a surprise that she got the most votes.
I was genuinely surprised that Gladstone didn’t win, but I saw both movies and if I’m honest with myself, it’s almost not even fair for them to compete in the same category. Emma Stone is in almost every single scene, and did such a phenomenal job. She absolutely earned her win, and it’s only because of “optics” that…
What I should have written is that the word choice is inappropriate. And I’m not telling anyone how to feel.
Or you could just think that Stone gave amazing, difficult performance in both a TV show and a movie this year, and so it’s nice she won an award.
Sure, if your definition of progress is accolades.
Every time I see people with this same bullshit take, I think that you either didn’t see Poor Things or you don’t understand how basic math works.
Robbing isn’t the right word, but yes, that is pretty funny.
Oh fuck all the way off twice. Emma Stone did nothing wrong.
I saw both Poor Things and KOFM. Emma Stone is much more front and center in her movie and her performance is very showy. Lily Gladstone’s performance is much quieter and for me impactful. However, it isn’t hard to see why Stone took home the Oscar. Nobody got robbed of anything.
“Robbing” is a strong and inappropriate word. It would have been awesome to see Gladstone win because I really loved her performance, but Stone’s was also really incredible, and a much bigger part of her film. The award was up for grabs especially between the two of them, and not for Gladstone to lose.
Not cheated out. Emma Stone is a tour de force in her movie. Carrying it front and center. As great revelation Lily Gladstone is, she was part of ensemble with Di Caprio and De Niro lead the way. It dimmed the spotlight on her a little bit.
There’s no such thing as being cheated. Award shows are just popularity contests, and one is no better or worse than the rest. Its like asking “what’s better, Niagara Falls or the Gand Canyon.” It’s just a choice, there is no right or wrong answer.
