The banality of evil. I think the HBO movie Conspiracy did a good job of showing that. It is basically 90 minutes of Nazis debating the details of what is a jew in the law exactly and based on how jewish you are, what should be done with you. What if you are half New and half Ayran? 1/4, 1/8, 1/16? That sort of thing.

A lot of movies (JoJo Rabbit got this quite a bit) get criticized for “humanizing” nazis, but that’s the thing: they were humans! The point is we might all be capable of great evil, and we have to do the work to be good people, every day. A movie I really love is The Reader with Kate Winslet (in fact, the actress who

This is the problem that I had with the show. Hunters was great, but when you treat all Nazis like psychotic super villains then you make it easier for Sally-Ann Anti-Semite to excuse their casual bigotry. “I’m not like those Nazis. I don’t want to do medical experiments on Jews; I just don’t want my daughter to date

As a Jew I’m really not sure how I feel about this show. (I have watched the first episode and three quarters of the second).

To be fair the USMNT aren't beating any of the teams they play and they still get some compensation for losing. The women's team doesn't get paid if they lose. The women's team brings in more viewers\more revenue to US Soccer.  they aren't asking for more pay only equal pay with men's team.

It’s incidents like this that make me lose faith in humanity (more so the response than what happened, because I can’t be surprised when a man reacts violently when he perceives a woman as entering “his” space).

And the flight attendant's threatening response was worse. The airline needs to fire that person ASAP.

Pretty furious that there are still people saying that the woman was in the wrong for that seat incident. First of all, she did have a disability (fused neck), but besides that, she paid for and selected a seat that reclines. She’s allowed to use it, full stop. If you’re mad, be mad at the airline that keeps squeezing

You realize that all your arguments boil down to, “Well women are biologically inferior to men so of course they should be paid less.” Like it’s actually pretty shocking that you don’t try to hide your misogyny in a different argument like most do, it’s just very plainly stated like nothing is wrong with it and you

My old firm had a case where she was opposing counsel 10+ years ago. She was super annoyed because we filed an Emergency Motion in a divorce case where she represented the father. She called up our office to make sure we know how mad she was and just went off. The partner let her rail and then said, “Okay, okay, but

U.S. Soccer Federation Says Men and Women Who Play Soccer Aren’t Doing the Same Job”

I hope the funeral was for someone close.

They aren’t doing the same job. The women are winning.

Didn’t Weinstein’s team try to argue that they wanted to have a venue change because he couldn’t get a fair trial due to all the news the jurors would have been exposed to? Kinda rich for Rotunna to publish an Op/Ed targeting jurors

she ended her defense Harvey Weinstein having told the press that the blame for sexual assault should rest equally.’

Can she just go and share a cell with Weinstein already? Fuck them both.

If only she hadn’t put herself in this position by defending Weinstain.

I don’t know if anyone listened to her interview on the Daily, but it was infuriating by the end. I even felt like throughout much of it, she was very smart, very composed, and I didn’t totally agree with her take on most of it, but she came across as reasonable (not commenting on other cases, only the people involved

Why would she put herself in a position to get criticized by Gloria A.?
