It’s really upsetting. Nobody wants this.

As other people have noted, the mother could indeed have brought a hot sandwich or other hot food on board. The mother told the crew her daughter would scratch other people, ie, attack other passengers. Terrorist, no, but want them off the plane, yes.

No, that’s actual polling data.

I’m from MA, too (although I don’t live there anymore) and I am genuinely shocked that this happened for exactly those reasons.

I’m super sad about this. I’m from MA, and I know that my state is overwhelmingly against the death penalty, and even overwhelmingly against the death penalty for Tsarnaev, specifically. We should not be in the business of executing people. I don’t believe that counts as justice.

If this was a federal trial, why didn’t they have the trial somewhere that might have people less personally affected by this? I’m just thinking of so many other people that are also terrorists, maybe responsible for worse things, but who are in the supermax prison out in Colorado? It just seems very strange. Not

A bit of a side question. It always seems that defendants show no emotion when a guilty verdict or sentencing is read. Anyone have any insight as to why that is?

WTF? We don’t do that here in Massachusetts.

I’m at this point where I don’t care what happens to this guy, but I feel like a life penalty, locked up and isolated until he dies naturally, thinking about all the things he didn’t get to do, is a much bigger and appropriate punishment.

I have no idea. Is it like an ego thing? “This was MY dress. I will be the ONLY one to wear it?” Or just incredibly wasteful, like we can care about conservation & reusing/recycling/upcycling all the time, but not for weddings because they’re sacred?

Trashing the dress is so weird. I am starting to hate that it is a thing. Why even bother spending the money on the dress? You spend hundreds or thousands on a dress and then make it worthless and unusable for anyone else. Why not donate it or give it to Goodwill so another less fortunate bride can use it? Why not

YOU CAN TOTALLY BRING A HOT SANDWICH ON BOARD.

That’s what Steph-anie would have done.

Seriously, use some judgment. She's a teenager with autism who wanted something to eat, not an armed terrorist. There is literally nothing she could have done that would have taken that plane down and she was sitting with her parents. She wasn't a threat to anyone.

Many domestic flights do not offer hot meals anymore. :(

They should have called ahead to arrange the (fairly minor) disability accommodation of hot food, but paying hundreds of dollars extra for first class? C’mon.

She’s a 15 year old girl. I’m pretty sure she was a threat to no one

i’m not sure if an autistic child having a tantrum = making threats?

You just painted a mental picture of a baby who will grow up to possibly have dicks drawn on her face. We didn’t need to imagine that this specific ugly thing might happen to the baby. Imagining it is a bit like it’s already happening.

May Mia Alma—who didn’t ask for any of this—live a wonderful life, free from the hassle of ever encountering a stranger who, like Perez, will use MS Paint to draw dicks coming semen in her face.”
