LOL I thought you could :) There's some Japanese words there that they are pairing with Chinese words, but my guess is that they are referring to the Shanghai dialect instead of the Mandarin ... I don't know... I am too lazy to read and figure it out ;)

This article is totally on point. I like it a lot. That's all I have to say.

I actually wish people could bring their kids to work.

I have the sense he enjoyed it way, way too much. It was probably his way to do Pinterest without actually having to do it.

Yes but how many "pure" Mandarin speakers are there? Nearly everyone has a dialect that they learn first, and Mandarin is, dare I say, not really "real." Only 70% of the Mainland population speaks Mandarin (that means 400 million don't), and of that 70%, only 10% are fluent in it: http://www.bloomberg.com/bw/articl

I just replied to someone else concerning this. I attended a talk some years ago in Mandarin on the topic, and back then my Chinese wasn't good enough to follow the details, but good enough to get the main point. I don't know if this helps (hope you can read Chinese), but googling in English doesn't result in much.

I lived in Shanghai for a number of years but do not speak Shanghai dialect. My knowledge on this is that I attended a talk that went into this in some detail, though the talk was in Mandarin and that was back in the day when mine wasn't so good. I mean good enough to get the point, but not follow the details. I

Isn't it illegal to pose as somebody else online? How is he getting away with this? So fucking childish.

I have found Mainland Chinese speakers to confuse r and l sounds a lot when speaking English, at least. I lived there for several years but maybe ended up speaking to all the wrong people? I dunno. Not to condone the awful joke, by the way.

Well there is considerable similarities between Shanghai dialect and Japanese.

Except that they do, again, not excusing what the president did, but this thread is bizarre. Mainland Chinese speakers do mistake l and r sounds quite often, at lest when speaking English. I have an r in my name and many people there pronounced it as an l sound.

I have lived in China for several years and people there do mix up the r and l when speaking foreign languages, at least. That is not to excuse the presidents twitter at all, of course.

I haven't commented here for a long long time because I've been pretty much fed up with this place, but your comment sums up about everything. Yes, yes, and yes, she was not an awesome pirate woman who was anti-rape. What is this article doing here.

Oh man, your response makes me cringe...

Pinterest wedding stuff is for folks who aren't actually getting married. You can't stick menus and specific floor layouts from various venues in your town on pinterest.

I hope someone gives her a new wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses for free. If I had a shop I would, as that lady is a hero. I heard the owner of the bridal shop that she went to for the fitting in an interview, and the owner blamed Vinson for being out in public and flying when she should've known better. The

I really wish you would've included Sasha in that line, it's sort of weird to leave out an awesome woman on this site. Or maybe there was a reason to leave her out that I don't readily understand. Hate to be picky, but anyway.

I have to say I like it. I like the color, shape, style, all of it. It works on her, IMO.

Wow I have learned so much from you just in the last few minutes. I have never been more impressed with a random person on the Internet until now! Thank you for keeping us all in the know!

But can't it be spread simply through sweat, not just blood and feces?
