40 years ago, I had a filling that cracked without my knowing it. The resulting abscess ate right through the bone of my upper jaw, but caused no pain whatsoever that would have alerted me earlier. I guess it was only when the abscess ran out of space that it started to hurt.
If the first one was infected, that might have been the issue; they’re harder to anesthetize. I’ve had two root canals on uninfected teeth, and they were a breeze. They were 2/3 of the way through the first one before I’d realized they’d even started.

I look forward to automation. People cannot drive in this country. Driver education is designed for children, testing is minimal and is taken ONCE, even if you get in bad accidents every few years. Punishment is metered to the opinion that driving is a necessity of life and permissions cannot be taken away.
