I liked the series on the balance, but it definitely skated by on atmosphere and cinematography a lot to cover for weaker writing, which is becoming a Netflix staple. This subplot was in fact silly and pointless.
I thought Daredevil was pretty damn decent, but like most representations of journalism on television, the newspaper arc was a corny caricature. I thought House of Cards’ was even worse (that whole show is a train wreck).
