One thing that helped me the last time I was unemployed was doing volunteer work. I had the time, it got me out with other people, it was free, and I felt like I was making a positive contribution to the world. Just something to consider. Fingers crossed you find a great new job very soon!

So happy for you and also for your students - every kid deserves to have a teacher who really wants to be there. :)

I'm so very sorry. Bless you for being the best momma that furbaby could have wished for.

Yes, I want the answers to these questions too! :D Never heard of a program that required knowledge of six languages before.

How awful. Wish I could think of something witty & wise to tell you. Sending good thoughts your way.

Love these so much! :) Thanks for reminding me about them.

Oh, I feel for you ... I am so talented at focusing on those worst-case scenarios! Hang in there. Sending e-hugs and good wishes.

Been there, done that, have the T-shirt. Honestly, I suggest you just let the book go if you can stand to. I got the book back after a semester's worth of nagging, but 20 years later I haven't touched it other than to move it from apartment to apartment because I associate it with bad memories. And remind yourself to

I also have depression & usually am OK thanks to meds, but yeah, I have those days too. Sometimes I'll get several like that in a short period of time and start panicking, but then I have days like today where I am weirdly energetic & productive. Just thought I'd share and let you know you sound normal to me. :) Hang

LOL - dear god. :D

The adults in my life did a really crappy job of hiding explicit stuff from me. You could find sex manuals in the bottom shelf of one of my parents' living room bookcases, right above the TV. I don't know what they were thinking. The books mysteriously moved at some point - their bedroom was on the other side of the

Yeah, I got what you were saying :) ... just wanted to point out that fans of those genres don't have to be mutually exclusive. It just depends on the day for me what I want! :D

Will do - thanks! :)

This is awesome. :D Never saw this movie.

I like Amish romances and also like good erotica. IJS. :)

Good news - I called Honda, and they told me not to worry. They work with 10 or so banks, so when Capital One rejected me, they just sent my application on to the next bank, and they gave me the financing. Phew! The letter from Capital One is just a formality that goes out automatically - might be required by law or

Worst-case scenario I'll probably just pay the rest in cash instead of financing ... I was hoping to keep some cash free in case I find a condo to buy, but I don't think it's worth having someone have to co-sign for me.

Man, I hate Sunday nights. :(

Appreciate the tips. This financing was not directly through the car mfr. - it's with Capital One, but I went through Honda to apply for it. I'm planning to call the Honda finance lady and see what she recommends. I did call my mortgage broker & asked if financing a car would create any problems getting a mortgage,

I have always bought used before (and have always paid cash), but this time I ran into the situation you describe — the same model car a couple of years older cost almost the same. I could have paid cash for it, but I am also looking to buy a condo and didn't want to be short on cash in case I need to make a down
