This thing would have a 1300' radius. Assume you need some ground clearance as well... on the low end, maybe 100'? So from base to the highest point, 1400'. The Empire State Building is 1454' to the tip of the spire. That is damn huge.

Not familiar with these particular set of experiments, but generally when discussing statistical significance, it is slightly more nuanced than being able to say “there’s only an 11.5% chance it’s a fluke”.

Fully agree you need to remove the oxygen, though I’ve found plastic wine bladders to be easier than vacuum pumps. And if I’m saving a red I’ll leave it at room temperature - I can’t see that mattering over the course of a few days assuming you keep your house cool and reasonably stable.

Someone needs to buy you one of these (in exchange for a slice of that delicious sounding pie). It is $12 and change, and it is comical how quick and effective it is. I only use it a couple of times a year and space in my NYC kitchen is at a premium but it is still one of my all time favorite purchases.
