The Discovery crew lived in a rotating cylinder that provided them with artificial gravity through centripetal acceleration. That was one of the cool things about the movie - the classic scene where the astronaut was jogging along inside of the drum.
Believe it or not, there was a patent from Apple in this past year or so that has the camera embedded in the screen for just this reason. Whether or not they actually release a product that uses it is another question.
