If you're a regular reader of iO9, you should probably have picked up on the fact that movies, especially scifi/fantasy ones, have TONS of concept designs, sketches, etc.
That is an interesting design; it seems to fit in with the biotechnic-feel of the rest of Krypton that the movie showed.
Failure to satisfy your delicate artistic palate doesn't make their art department inept.

I actually really enjoyed the movie, although I wish they'd toned-down the kid's hypersonic shrieks when he threw down the challenge :)

My Dad, a very down-to-earth barber, brought my friend and I to see the original "Alien." Dad really didn't know what to expect and all three of us had the crap scared out of us. It was a blast, though, and he still talks about how after the movie we dropped my friend off and how he ran for his front door in the dark.…
