Measured in Limbo-Moles(tm), the bar is below ground-level.

It's because even spammers have SOME level of credibility. Now, if they said something about a Border Collie, that'd be a whole 'nother ballgame. :)

Ahh, but common sense doesn't make for very good traffic-generating sensationalizing studies and headlines. :)

Yup. Once I turn the iPad off, I'm asleep within a couple of minutes.

I frankly can't sleep easily unless I read before turning in. The low brightness and reverse contrast just seem to be the perfect combo. I think (maybe I'm fooling myself) that I fall asleep easier than I did when I read regular books with a lamp turned on.

I read iBooks at night, with black background and white lettering, brightness way down. Works perfectly fine and I haven't noticed any lessening in the amount of sleep I get in a night.

Good point. Never thought of the inherent advantages of having a stunt sequence take place in the air. The individual elements have to line up with one another, but, other than the ground and horizon, they can pretty much ignore alignment issues until they get closer to the surface.

David Weber's Honor Harrington series ("Honor Harrington on Basilisk Station,") John Ringo's Posleen series (starts with "A Hymn Before Battle",) John Scalzi's "Old Man's War," Buettner's "Orphanage" series, David Weber & Steve White's "Stars At War" series, Weber & Ringo's "March" books... Lots of terrific choices -

The test was done with pure oxygen, making material that was normally safe extremely flammable, including the Beta cloth.

What an utter waste of three extraordinary people. The only "good"thing to come out of that tragedy was the complete overhaul of the Apollo capsule design and the methodology for going forward with modifications. The irony is that the tragedy on the ground test most likely prevented one in space. I wonder if the

Nicely said.

The Stupid. It burns!!!

Rue, rue, rue yer boot!.... Sorry. Won't happen again. I blame the medication I'm on for bronchitis.

Yeah, thank you! I was wondering why this hadn't been mentioned.
