I mean, there’s also the fact that he doesn’t seem to understand what governing NYC would actually entail. Say what you want about DeBlasio (and there is A LOT to be said), but he worked in NYC politics and knows how the machine turns. You can’t ‘disrupt’ the NYC political machine - you’ll spend your whole first term

You know what the solution is for these people? Don’t post on social media! Oh wait, these same people are vapid and stuck on showing the world that they’re having “fun?”

I once had a boss state that she didn’t believe that women should get paid time off for choosing to get pregnant... in 2012. It was my first job, and I didn’t even know what to say. She said it so casually over a team lunch, and no one there was pregnant. If anyone ever did something like that now, I’d go straight to

Honestly, I’ve seen this story plastered over instagram and jezebel, and people making fun of it on facebook. For some reason this, paired with the terrible news cycle, has made me think well - maybe Daenerys didn’t have it wrong after all. We’re utterly kind of garbage and care about such trivial things, and while we

Was it just me or was Gayle King letting him have it? I have some new found respect for her.

It is very easy for someone in a +80 district to take extreme positions. Governing, however, is much harder. Wonderful for her to bring her voice to the debate, but put that energy to good use in passing actual legislation (or building a coalition). Torpedoing folks in the midwest/suburbs because of ideological purity

This article feels like it was written after someone had a bad weekend on grindr, and then decided to elevate their language to disguise hurt feelings by idiots on a dating app.

There are a few outcomes for the folks that get elected this cycle that are far-left. Those in heavily democratic districts will now have the power of incumbency, which will give them name recognition, and likely keep them in power. For those in more centrist districts, it’ll be a tightrope walk. It would be very easy

I’ll watch anything with Gael Garcia Bernal, even a Maggie Gyllenhaal movie. Also, isn’t this the second movie where she gets cast as the white lady trying to be the savior for someone underrepresented?

Senator Murkowski... watching her through this whole process it felt to me that she believed Dr. Ford and is not happy with the leadership. Good on her for this vote. Now if only she could convince Sens Collins and Manchin...

Now playing

I hope you’ve seen The Windsors, because if not, you’ll love how they portray Beatrice, Eugenie, and Fergie:

Yes, this is a long one.

It’s amusing when people get so touchy about their money situation. The sanctimonious refrain of being told not to call someone out who’s parents have helped them... while at the same time glamorizing or fetishizing it over instagram et al. It’s a bit of a reason why very liberal people can’t understand the bitterness

I’ve lived in NYC for almost 10 years and I am so weary of all the ridiculous things people demand of the Subway. It is a public transportation option to get from A to B. It is not built for dogs, cats, large fowl, etc (yes, I know there is an exception for those in carriers which is fine; obviously if they’re locked

Just remember, both parties are pretty much the same so I’m sure we would’ve gotten the same sort of justice from President H. Clinton!!! LOL!

So, now what? I am honestly not sure what to say about this entire thread because people are very much in the mood to jump on the democratic leadership (who arguably make bad choices) and cost them the house in November (they are not winning the Senate, so don’t even dream about that).

I’m not advocating a complete rejection of condoms. Use ‘em if you like ‘em!

Is it just me or are these articles incredibly hard to read with the Hand Maiden’s Tale ads playing in the middle of them. Jfc can y’all get a different sponsor for the Trump articles???

Look, she has really nice ideas that play well to the liberal folks in NYC (white middle/upper middle class). The problem is that the roll out of her campaign hasn’t (and probably won’t) sell most of us that live here in NY (especially NYC).

It was not a decisive win because of voter attitudes and aggregate data told us it wasn’t going to be a decisive win unless there was a massive push from the Democratic candidate, good head winds, and a strong ground game.
