I kind of see it the other way around. They get people excited about the campaign, the new visuals the story, the body of the car. It's all flash and nice and exciting. Strip it down and you're left with the core of the series, the engine, the MP.

Though I agree, I happen to think MS is in a unique place to get better partnership deals because the service is not free. They are able to lure in deals because MS has the extra cash from every subscriber to pay back these companies. It's a broken model to begin with, but that's the sad truth. Sure there are "free to

Ok let's nitpick the term. Online community. The one that keeps the game chugging along. Let's not kid around the fact that it's an MP centric game and that's the community people refer to when you say community.

The last game was delayed from April to September of last year. I think that was on MS considering how finished the beta seemed and the on-disc DLC. This title was already in motion (developed by People Can Fly) and now is launching on time. Seems early, feels early, I think it's early, but it matches their schedule.

The last game was delayed once or twice. It was supposed to be released in April of 2011, got pushed all the back to September. I'm sure this was already in the works during that time and...now it's being announced on schedule which seems to early because of the delay.

Check the online community and active players from launch to now. A copy sold is not someone playing online. The community numbers are going down. People have played and moved on. The rest of the community is split among a ton of playlists and DLC restrictions.

TDM, though I don't mind it, has done more harm to the Gears universe than good. The overall gameplay of the gametype goes against what Gears MP is and has been since it's release. Warzone/Execution were THE gametypes that defined Gears of War MP. Now no one is playing them and I feel as if they teamplay, quickness,

It's an interesting thought, but if people aren't blown away by the difference, then MS is just making it harder for them to sell next gen. I'm kind of hoping MS has some more surprises for E3. I didn't see this coming at all.

I agree on just the overall quality of MP being better in Gears3, but they haven't done a great job dealing with keeping numbers of the community up. There's maybe 15+ playlists, only 2 of those ever have over a 1000 playing (never on ranked), TDM has ruined the balancing of the community with probably 80% playing

Strange this is announced now (or Monday in full). I guess it'd be scheduled for release next fall if it's a full title which seems strange considering it's for the 360 and that's the rumored time for a next gen console release.

They said the triology was the end of the road for Marcus and gang. Marcus was locked up starting Gears1 which starts 14 years after E-Day. Oynx Guards is interesting though because they followed around the chairman, and that guy doesn't look so much like Marcus. New characters I'm sure, pre Gears1 most definitely.

No you don't now, but it's an all digital method that is working and people get it to work for them on all sorts of connections. It would be no different for an all digital Playstation. You wouldn't be downloading 50gb games either. File sizes would be smaller for a game that's not running on PS3's slow blu-ray drive.

Steam doesn't seem to be struggling.

Objet machines are great. Even the cheaper versions like Eden. They don't hold up as well as things like SLS, SLA, FDM, etc., but they are fast and give you a good approximation of your model quickly. The ability to print a variety of plastics is nice as well. Details good too.

You people are too busy complaining about how it's bad for the industry while those who enjoy the game can't hear you while they blow people away.

In MP titles though, people have multiple accounts or use month to month accounts, etc. However, I recall reading a stat that 1% of all players in Gears 3 have finished the campaign on insane.

Get it for whatever platform your friends are going to buy it on. The online experience/matchmaking for Borderlands got really messed up and was little fun. The most fun I had was playing with friends. That'll be a 360 experience for me.

I want to be more excited about Halo 4, but a lot of the gameplay discussions going on so far haven't made me super excited about anything. Who knows, maybe a social setup that plays more like CoD with an MLG playlist set for more serious, traditional Halo gameplay.

You have to pick your battles. Co-op lobbies rarely works for me because of exactly what you ssaid. I use it for playing with friends since I think the split screen experience is poor and we usually are not in the same space.

I think he is simply just saying that if you want to sell more games, especially in the western market, consider multiplayer on some level. Not necessary shooter style MP, but co-op or some other form of players interacting with other players online or locally.
