Agreed. My decision was based on things like the fact that Gears is one of my favorite series, I've always bought the DLC and it's about time they start giving early adopters some more love. Epic has been a good dev to the community, has listened and generally provided good content. I would never do this with

Neither BF3 or CoD require a lot of skill. The majority of people won't hit the skill ceiling in either. Everyone acts like BF3 is this huge team based MP, but in reality it's still a bunch of solo people doing their own thing being dominated by a group of friends playing together. Black Ops is the exact same. They

It's not blind. You didn't and still don't have to buy the season pass. Right now we know the content of 2 of the 4 offerings and the maps are coming free. I think if the content still seems worth the savings, then you'd be ok with going ahead and buying the season pass now and save in the future 2 DLCs.

Plus the horde command centers and the achievements.

The season pass is a full value set of all the DLC that comes out in the next year. It's to early to see if it was worth it or not.

Well you get the maps for Horde. No one else does. They go public in for versus just so everyone can play and it doesn't split up a small community into even smaller groups with slower match times and worse connections.

"The times where Battlefield 3 does its damnedest to go toe-to-toe with Call of Duty are the times it stumbles the hardest."

Google does create a lot for Android. It's not all open source. There's a difference between the AOSP and the version found running on a Nexus.

You know, I wish that was the case. I wish I could play test games before I buy them. These days we get trapped into pre-order DLC/bonsus/discounts and we get a review barely before the game comes out.

Just because someone is doing one thing doesn't make it right.

Agreed. 9/10 MP, 5/10 SP/Co-op = 8/10 game. I'm all cool with that. The game is so-so as a whole package and has a great MP. Review it in pieces if you want, but I'll be taking each piece of the game into account when thinking about buying a game like this. A good review should cover the quality of each piece of the

Our opinions will vary on Uncharted's MP on Gears 1's MP. Both I thought were good despite their glitches. Both were incredibly popular MP communities on their platforms.

So 2/3 of what's on the disc (Co-op & SP) are not good, but we should give it the best score for doing MP well?

Well we aren't talking about other reviews. We are talking about the Joystiq one and people's reactions to that review. We are talking about this one particular instance. Like I said, I don't care what anyone scores it, if it's on the disc, it needs to be considered as part of the game and part of that $60 value.

And those are your valid opinions.

I see a lot of people just dismissing this because it's a MP-centric game. If BF3 wants to be a relevant AAA title (especially on the console) it needs to offer something more than just their standard MP. Look at it's direct and indirect competition. Take Gears. Horde, Campaign/Arcade, Beast, MP are all MP. Halo same

I will actually be very surprised consider that goes completely away from their most profitable manufacturer and towards one that is currently struggling to keep up. It's not going to be a closed system like the rest of the platforms out there. That's Google's selling point.

It's not new. Nor is what Siri really does. Sure it may do it in a different way, but that's not to saw that all of the sudden voice control is the new thing. I'm with KnightNZ, it's a novelty trick that is cool to show friends. I don't see it as a groundbreaking new feature. It's just a nice addition to the OS that

Google bought Moto for patents. Let's not think it's leading to hardware things because they have specifically said it's not. Who made the newest Nexus? Samsung.

BF3 has a lot to prove. MW3 potential buyers have a very good idea of what they are going to get.
