They're both over 30 years old at this point, the differences aren't as great as when they were new, especially if you're used to modern vehicles.
Cheaper, easier to find, can buy parts anywhere, want to put a small block in it, etc.
I don’t even think it needs to raise up. Just mount the plug at ground level with a lid that opens via app. Move it closer to the curb to prevent a tripping hazard when someone is using it. Kind of like floor outlets in a home.
I do appreciate that Nader’s book and his advocacy eventually saved countless lives. I’m glad for the necessary safety improvements that came along as a result of the book.
