My wish for the next Challenger is a nicer interior, lose a few hundred pounds, and a convertible option.

Or...

I dunno, if you factor in the bloviating that Tesla and Prius owners do about their cars for the entire life cycle the fully-loaded CO2 cost is fairly astronomical.

I thought the Challenger looked dated when it came out in 2008. But the weird thing is that the older it gets, the more it looks “classic,” with clean proportions, and no silly extra creases or ornamental details that have made the Camaro and Mustang look dated over the same time frame.

Yeah having the conversation matters. It can open our eyes to other issues. Like I just learned the fact my electricity is twice as dirty as Jalopnik’s. So depending on my EV, I actually would be better off with an ICE. That is a conversation worth having.

“...if we don’t switch to a zero-emission economy fast we’re pretty much entirely fucked, if we’re not entirely fucked already...”

It MIGHT be an allowance for the Manual variants which the Charger does not have. *shrugs*

I do not work for FCA nor did I stay in any particular hotel last night.

Exactly. Whoever is in charge of Chevy’s styling right now, should be fired yesterday. The refreshed Camaro is hideous, the new Silverado is an abomination, and that blob of bleh the put the Blazer name on is something they should all be ashamed of. Ed Welburn left, and the whole place fell to shit.

you lose a little bit of credibility when you suggest that we should have been looking for a transitionary fuel 100 years ago considering mass productions of automobiles had just started a few years prior. Might as well have said we never should have used the internal combustion engine because it was going to cause

I wouldn’t say it’s a waste of time. When you live life a certain way for so long, it takes time to make huge changes. The Hummer Vs. Prius argument is a necessary one. Even if the Prius pollutes less over the course of its lifetime, the argument may have brought up points for people that may not have been brought up

“Recall the false promises about corn and cellulosic ethanol,”

All I can say is the guy who called the cops on you at the gas station is the king asshole of the universe.

Most people I know don’t go out and get a new car once their old is paid off. They get a new car when the old one costs too much to maintain. I would guess that the buying cycle is longer because of a combination of longer loan periods and better quality cars.

Absolutes are bad. That’s why I never use them.
