In reading the comments, it’s readily apparent that the concept of what “poverty” is needs to be addressed by many.

Almost no lessons were learned from the housing bubble. You can still buy a house with little to no money down and the government still backs most of the loans. I’ve not yet heard of interest-only loans being a thing again, but can’t say I’d be surprised if I did hear it.
For inflation to get out of control, the government need only to keep printing money considerably faster than economic growth. Eventually, that tax will hit us all.
