I like to track my car’s MPG for a little while at least just to see how accurate (or more to the point inaccurate) the on-board system is at measuring it.

High-speed rail is usually a boondoggle in the states. Certainly is in CA.

Like the wonderful job they did with the Animas River.

It’s easy to wing it when you don’t have to put any real thought into how infrastructure or market forces work and when you pay almost zero penalty for being wrong.
