I’m always happy to see F. Murray Abraham getting work. And I encourage any/all to watch By the Sword, if you can find it anywhere. It’s Amadeus, but for fencing!!  Starring F. Murray Abraham and Eric Roberts!!  Need I say more?

Right, that was the major takeaway for me, and it’s odd that this piece and most of the comments ignore it. She said she waited for the perfect moment to rip up that picture—it was the hugest, most meta fuck-you to her abuser (her mother, that is) she could come up with, whatever else was intended or interpreted. I’m

I already feel nervous for these characters knowing (solely from the review) that they’re living in a new, carefully decorated house made possible by money from Denise’s book and Denise has a “stalled career” and Alicia’s trying to get pregnant ...

I just watched Midnight Run for the first time a few weeks ago and I already want to watch it again.  What a fantastic movie.

Now her I prefer in full GoT regalia. That Targaryen wig was pretty special.  Not that she’s not appealing in all guises.

Wow, Lena Headey is so very not blonde in real life. I like her as a brunette with glasses and a scarf.

Love Tom Hardy.

Key & Peele were absolutely fantastic at ending sketches, and SNL is notoriously terrible, and it’s odd, because the writing staff turns over periodically but the problem persists.

God bless you, I missed this one in my frequent YouTubing of Key & Peele.

Fair point--it’s not a cool joke for them to make.  Kumail is very very buff now but he doesn’t look steroid-huge to me, just looks like he spends most of his time exercising and consuming fitness-related stuff, supplements, shakes, whatever.

“Joss” can be a nickname for “Joseph,” and not just for “Josseph” like we all thought.

My beloved Honda Civic died recently. Now I am enjoying the fantasy that someone replaced the transmission, drove it out to Utah, and had a big adventure.

It’s really true. Nails why I have such a soft spot for the eighth movie. It throws in a gratuitous flashback to the first one, just so you can see how very young they were when it all started, but it wasn’t even necessary, you could feel the weight of what a large percentage of the child cast’s lives had been spent

Yeah, I have to say, not much respect for people who can’t talk straight when absolutely everyone knows what’s really going on. I don’t understand the impulse to try to exert this kind of blatant, unsuccessful image control.

Hard disagree.  There’s more than one kind of joke.

A Black American man is highly unlikely to have a distinctively Nordic surname like Nordberg (i.e. a name that usually denotes extra-pale Northern European ancestry). That’s the joke. I don’t want to speak for anyone else, but from my personal 2021 vantage point it doesn’t feel like a cool, funny joke anymore.

Was not making that claim.

Same, and as a fully-vaccinated person I am very very excited to see this IN THE THEATER.

I have to figure “hire survivors” here means “hire Charlyne Yi.”

I agree that it must have been hard going to Rogen when they were in the middle of working together, but I’m not sure she has everything to lose. She’s only been in the news for calling people out in the past few years. Granted, I’m not sure how she monetizes it.
