Tragic. They really should have turned the brand into a sportscar or luxury-GT marque that hearkened back to the famous Mercury coupes of the 40s and 50s. It's their own fault the brand is dying - they could easily have done with it what GM is doing with Buick.

Remote start on a manual transmission is just asking for trouble. Especially when someone unfamiliar with your car is in possession of it.
