When the pandemic started I began watching a lot of sports anime because I wanted something low stakes that would distract me. My favorite was Kuroko no basketball, but Ippo is a close second. I watch the last five minutes of the Ippo vs Sendo rematch like once a month when I want to get pumped up.

It just seems like this is going to be rough right? Like rather than focusing on creating a scenario that they themselves acknowledge that .1 percent of plays will see, maybe polish the regular stuff?

Man, I remember getting the entire THQ catalog for $50 at an early Steam sale, including every Dawn of War game and Company of Heroes and its expansions. Long time since they did anything like that.

Yes, the open world structure of this game is definitely working against it.

Boy, it sure seems like it was worth humoring Ezra Miller for all these months.

Come on, FF IV is one of the most important and influential JRPGs of all time and you have it 10th?

Yep, these are my Podcasters.

Obligatory:

Yes, my feeling exactly. I didn’t really notice it as a Sorcerer but I definitely did as a necromancer. Even if you only focus on one minion type you're still giving up a slot.

Damn, thats exactly right. That was a game that did the power politics well without the edge lord GoT piece.

Yeah, this is how I felt. I don't have any particular animus toward these two but I also have no idea what the creative vision would be in paying them to come up with content.

I enjoyed the combat but it feels like the grim dark tone is going to grate. The game seems obsssed with spattering as much blood as possible in characters to make it seem darker but actually just makes it look silly. In the demo one character gets stabbed and another character behind him is comically covered in blood

When you think about it, the enforcers of white apartheid and the people fighting against it are basically the same thing. I remember how annoyed I was that they couldn’t sell this idea because it was stupid so they had Fitzroy threaten an actual child just so you’d agree with them.

I can understand not supporting legacy systems, but is there a reason they don't have a PC subscription?

This is what 2.5D was invented to describe.

I started my day this morning by having one of the most important breakfast sandwiches ever made.

I recently read Blake Harris’ Console Wars and finally felt able to articulate why Sonic doesn’t work for me. Platforming is a genre about precision and accuracy. Nintendo’s core platforming series recognize that.

THE UGLY DACHSUND

The famous Bors comic is about how it’s dumb to call someone a hypocrite for trying to reform a system while being unavoidably part of that system. This isn’t that - this exhibit doesn’t make a critique of their patron’s money.

All billionaires are morally reprehensible, so it's okay for me to work with any of them?
