You should probably check the census data. A majority of new births were to POC almost a decade ago during the 2010 census. It’s now even higher.

No offense or anything, but you don’t seem to really understand what you’re talking about. Whites are wealthier than Black and Latino people, and their wealth is growing. Black and Latino people are actually losing wealth.

Virtually every Black and Brown person writing in this industry has written about this problem with VR.

I’m saying that we’re less wealthy than whites and old people, yes. And that means trying to sell something expensive to us is bullshit and doomed to failure. Same shit car makers are going through right now trying to sell cars to young people.

The thing is, I don’t think it’s “awesome technology”. I think it’s socially isolating and bad.

Ignoring the fact that young people are mostly people of color, and poorer than older generations are is a massive mistake.

There are tons of expensive failed gaming peripherals that never went anywhere and never dropped appreciably in price because they were a niche market. Think flight sticks. Just because some technology got cheap and widespread, doesn’t mean all technology does.

Thank god. VR was mostly a scam for VC cash. The headsets were always gonna be out of the price range of the young, poor, Black and brown people coming into gaming. And almost all the games were garbage, shovelware, and/or things that would have been better without VR.

That is some Stockholm syndrome shit right there.

I think the bigger problem is that the adventure seems to be set up so that the characters are mainlanders (ie. whites from fantasy Europe) only in Chult to kill monsters and plunder treasure. You’re essentially reenacting colonialism. There’s very little in the way of content for people who want to play local heroes…
