America locks up more women than any country on earth. Not because we’re more violent, but due to how we’ve chosen to punish people.

I’m saying you can’t address mass incarceration if you’re limiting reforms to non-violent offenders.

As Ta-Nehisi Coates explained:

That “mass incarceration stuff” wasn’t just a thinly veiled effort to legalize weed for some of us. The problem isn’t limited to drug offenses, much less to non-violent drug offenses. And you can’t fix it by limiting reforms to non-violent drug offenses.

Black men aren’t just in jail for “drug stuff” though. Nor is mass incarceration a Black thing, or a male thing. We have absolutely absurd numbers of women in prison too. More than any other country on earth. And many of them are there for violent crimes, same as the men.

Literally none of the stuff you all have read or discussed re: mass incarceration over the last few years has sunk in I guess.

This entire concept is dumb. Flying is better and easily expanded. High speed rail is just as good, and just as impossible due to eminent domain issues. Sitting/sleeping in a self-driving car on the interstate is going to be better.

Make up your mind. If character race is unimportant and irrelevant to gameplay and story, than you shouldn’t care if games are representative of the gaming public.

Not only did I not say gameplay or story were unimportant, I didn’t mention them at all. And why would I? They have nothing to do with the subject.

Riiiight.... Because every country out there has the same composition than NA, right?

Not just “too”. Black and Brown people are a few years from being the MAJORITY of this country’s young people, and we play games MORE than white people do.
