I don't see how it is more disruptive than a school year that kicks off with 4 days off in the first 2 weeks and ends with a 1 and a half day long week that half the kids will blow off. And if there's a year where Eid al-fitr falls during the academic year and they throw in Chinese New Year, school will seriously go…
The problem is that now New York City schools won't let out until June 28 next year (a Tuesday, by the way). Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Eid al-Adha, and Good Friday all add an extra week of school to the calendar. And Chinese families, understandably, have been lobbying for Chinese New Year off. The caliber of the college always matters...
Do you think the caliber of the college matters? I wouldn't hesitate to spend the money to send my kids to Swarthmore, Amherst, Vassar, Wellesley, etc, but I'm not sure about a liberal arts college that isn't "top tier". But maybe I'm just being a snob - happy to stand corrected.
If it weren't so hard to get an abortion there wouldn't be any Dr. Gosnells to take advantage of desperate women.

It would have been tied, but Jon hit it out of the park with the footage of 1994 Giuliani talking about transforming NYC.
Her statement on stage was off to me.
I've made this point in previous discussions of girl scout cookies, and I realize I sound like a "Get off my lawn" old coot, but they changed something about Thin Mints and now the chocolate is waxy and the cookie is bland, and I used to be able to eat an entire sleeve in one sitting and now I can't even choke one…
I miss you Eric.
THE DAY THE SINGER OF THE REFERENCE DIED OF CANCER!!!!
Yes. I actually also stopped getting periods thanks to Mirena. But before Mirena it was a blood bath.
My period is like when the elevators open in The Shining. You can't put the mattress in the washer.
