Yeah. "Bad Evidence."
Yeah. "Bad Evidence."
I'm saving this video so when my 9 year old hits peek eye-rolling I'll remember not to take it personally.
Do you know the time period over which the 183 students were expelled?
It would mean I am wildly unfamiliar with my closest friends of 30 years. Perhaps I am.
God Bless America!
While the Supreme Court of JosephFinn may think the displays are illegal, the Supreme Court of the United States has ruled otherwise.
(Sounds like those women probably would have appreciated that outspoken pity in 1990, but, HEY, better late than never.)
I would love to see examinations of how universities deal with issues like plagiarism, cheating, theft, non-sexual assaults, etc (which the interviewer touches on when he mentions expulsions for plagiarism). Not that I think rape is in the same category, but it would help to understand how much of the mismanagement of…
Part of the HUMAN/MAMMAL EXPERIENCE is to be disgusted by the smell of poop and to do everything within your power to hide the smell. For a cat that means kicking around the litter in the litter box to cover up the poop. For a human it means perfecting toilet technology.
I loved Working Girl until I read Backlash by Susan Faludi, which dissected the film through the lens of "woman-on-woman sparring" which ruined it for me. Even though I haven't seen the movie, or read that chapter, in over 20 years I still think about it from time to time. I wonder what if the movie was recast, with…
You make an excellent point. I was focusing on the letter of the quote, but not the intent. I like her plan much better than Kelly's.
The original post has been up for 90 minutes, but I'm still stunned someone actually beat me to this. Well done!

On the other hand, if all those networks were airing the speech, how many people who aren't inclined to seek out the information would actually keep the TV on and sit and pay attention? It might reflect the lack of interest among voters, but it isn't the cause.
I agree her point made sense. It has to be awkward when A) Someone you are friends with is accused of doing something heinous and B) You are in a position where you are expected to comment on it in a very public forum.
I can try to talk to my tween about grit and resilience until I'm blue in my face, but this song actually has a chance of getting through to her.
A comment and a question:
Definitions of such will vary, of course, but in my mind, anti-vaxxers are right at the top of the list of people in possession of a moral calculus so dimwitted and selfish that they could not effectively shame anyone for 30 whole minutes about a normal behavioral imperative aimed at both individual and public good,…
See for me it is the opposite. When I look at my yearbook my classmates still seem my age. And when I look at my freshmen yearbook the seniors still seem older. And when I look at my crush I still get all tingly, even though I am 20 years older than the kid that is his senior picture.
I think it is fair to look at the context and for the University to make an exception for a case of artistic expression and protest. I can't believe it is going to set a precedent that will encourage rampant mattress mutilation among Columbia's student body.
