I got vaccinated in the military in 2007.

Just type ‘ok maps’ in Google Maps and you can select any area you want for offline maps.

Bought my Cayman S from CarMax and added the 5yr warranty as well - I think it was ~$2200. I paid for towing and repair when the alternator died and the nearest dealer was 3 hrs away. The total bill would’ve been right about the same cost as the warranty - the alternator alone was $1200 - but the peace of mind was

No, I read the whole post. Your “~15% supporting them” is what I referred to as “a stat pulled directly from your ass,” but I venture to say that reading comprehension isn’t one of your strong suits.

“equivalent of 5 million Americans” = 1.5%. That’s literally a fringe minority, genius. And your “10x ... watching with thankful pride” is a stat pulled directly from your ass.

I don’t see any viable path to owning one of these long term that doesn’t involve an engine swap, LS, Ecotec, or otherwise.

It appears they’re on sale through tomorrow (1/13) for $9.99 each. I need to get in on that too.

A 64 page slideshow? GTFO here. Good lord is Kinja is a dumpster fire now.

Yes, assuming no increase in load, a roll will result in a loss of altitude. But airplanes have elevator (or similar surfaces) that allow increasing the load. A roll alone will always result in a loss of altitude, but in normal flying, you almost always increase load to maintain altitude.

If the total lift = 1g, it’ll work. Trust me.

1g is what you feel sitting down/standing still - the normal force of gravity - effectively nothing. You could barrel roll a plane with a passenger none-the-wiser if you kept the maneuver at 1g.

If it stayed close to a constant 1g throughout the maneuver, you wouldn’t feel anything.

I just sold an ‘05 4Runner for $2k more than I paid for it 3 years ago. All-in (minus gas/insurance), I only ate $1200 out of pocket. Had I not done a complete maintenance reset, I would’ve been well ahead.

Bradley, et al, what are some good resources for someone wanting to tackle an EV swap project, but not really know where to begin? ICE, no problem, but there are so many EV forums and builds out there it’s hard to tell where to begin.

That fuel injection setup looks comedically complicated and expensive, but I know nothing about ‘55 300SL engines.

One thing you’ll see with experience is that just because someone is a CFI, doesn’t mean they are a good pilot or instructor. It means they passed at least one CFI checkride.

Aircraft talk MSL altitude in pretty much every case, even well below airliner airspace. Hell, most aircraft don’t even have a radar altimeter (radalt) to determine their actual AGL altitude and have to do the math between MSL on the altimeter and terrain elevation.

It would’ve been better stated that Buttonville’s field elevation is 650 MSL (above sea level), at at 2000' MSL altitude, the aircraft was at 1350 AGL (above ground level).

Good save, but don’t switch fuel tanks on climb out. Wait till you’re at cruise. Then, if you change something and you have a problem, you have time to put it back. A proper preflight would’ve shown that imbalance as well.

Good, but the quality of some electric lawn equipment really needs to improve. When we moved from a zero-scaped house to one with a lawn, I bought a DeWalt 40V mower, really wanting to go electric for such a small plot. That thing chewed through the battery that I could only really finish the front yard reliably
