I'm a die hard fan of this show - I even bribed my best friend with money to get her to try it out (she's not a vampire fan). But this was the worst episode I've ever seen. If this is what we've come to, I have to walk away until the series finale when Elena (hopefully) comes back. Because that was torture.

Can anyone tell me (and this is totally random, but I think it every season)… why do they come in the worst possible clothing? Skinny jeans and dress shirts and boots? Is that mandated by the show? Wear only uncomfortable, hard to move in clothes?

I was wondering the same thing - like do they get sunscreen?? They must, right?

Yes, he did save her (and saved her again at his own wrongdoing when he came out of the Phoenix Stone), but all the characters are saving each other every episode, so I guess I just wanted a little more of what draws Bonnie to Damon. Perhaps she has fallen in love with him? Although the show seems adamantly opposed to

I agree. I need to see some back and forth to realize WHY Bonnie is so devoted to Damon. They keep saying they're best friends, but we haven't seen anything other than Damon manipulating her, putting her in danger, or lying to her since the 1994 plot. (Which is in the top 5 favs of the whole series for me.) We see

I miss the early seasons. And I can't stand Rowan.

Oh, how I loved this episode! It just proves that putting the key players back together - characters with rich history and dynamic chemistry - is what has been missing all along. Elena left and the show tried to fill the void with countless hollow characters and storylines that fell flat because they weren't utilizing

Totally agree… I watched the original series as a child. When I returned to it 20 some years later with my own kids, I could barely stand it. But it's a family/kid show. It's silly and cheesy and my kids LOVE it. We're about to watch the reboot and I'm excited for them… even if I will be hiding a book under my blanket

Karev can turn me into a sobbing mess with one 2 second look.

The dancing was classic GA and one of the best scenes in this episode for sure. Loved it.

For as drawn out as this story line has been, and for how over the top rom-com it seemed at times, those two can ACT. Damn… between the absolutely heartbreaking loss of their baby to this episode, I couldn't believe their range and delivery. As with the Meredith-centric episode two weeks ago, I was spell bound by this

I agree 100% with the review… and yet, I really liked this episode. It had me hooked the whole time, and I did shed some tears when Alaric showed Caroline the babies. I struggled through the entire first half of this season, so I'm not sure what's switched. The plot is better? The writing? The acting? I'm just more

I usually have Grey's on while I work, but this episode left me spellbound. I couldn't turn away and cried several times. The subtle nuances of Meredith and Karev are what keep me watching this show, and this was a home run. Has Chambers ever won an award for this show? Because he should.

I love Elena and would be sad if they removed her, but I totally agree that the drama doesn't work at all when you know the future. Although I suppose they could always spin it however they want, but still… It does take away from the suspense and emotional connection to the show.

Yes, exactly. And the scene where Damon is desiccating next to Elena until she wakes up takes away any suspense that she really was torched, or that Damon moves on. Not to mention the symmetry of Rayna going up in flames and emerging as her younger self. Girl on fire = girl is fine

Stefan (Paul) was the stand out tonight. That scene in the car made me cry. It feels like a lifetime ago that Elena and him were soulmates, but his emotion brought it all back to the surface. And as a pretty solid Delena shipper, it made me nostalgic for their original romance. Not bad, TVD, not bad…

I thought he was perfect!

The first few seasons are absolutely incredible. Im not their target demographic and I LOVED it. The later seasons werent AS good, but I still really enjoyed them. This season is a completely different show, so please don't start with season 7. Start with the pilot (and laugh through it because it's pretty silly) and

Oh, right… lol I totally forgot about Vicki. He said girlfriend too, maybe he meant Caroline?

The Huntress is a different actress and she appears first in ep713 (played by Leslie Anne Huff). I do think she is the girlfriend or family that Matt refers to losing in the flash forward.
