I’ve figured out that there’s stupid continuity errors and ‘mwah ha ha’ continuity errors on this show. I’m trying to reassure myself that the headline, because it’s been such a big plot point this season, falls into the latter category :D

My son burst into tears at the end of this episode until I pointed out that the newspaper headline still showed Barry vanishing in a crisis. If they’re smart (they aren’t) we’ll have no Barry until sweeps next year and they’ll take the opportunity to introduce Bart as a tease that Barry has to return.

Except literally nothing about the way he interacts with his past would lead us to expect that. His recognition of his upbringing as abusive, the lack of instilled loyalty that allowed him to leave his post, and the fact that we get a vivid flashback of his fighting prowess developing out of his ability to “come

Yup, he totally Luke Skywalkered that shit. Probably didn’t help.

I’ve seen this somewhere before. “I don’t understand a thing, therefore that thing is bad.”

Heh. Now, now. I’m sure everyone went into this with open minds and no axe to grind over casting wishes gone unfulfilled....

That, my friend, is what’s colloquially called “a clue.” :) I’m amazed at how many people missed it.

Agreed. Each one of the Marvel shows has dealt with characters that have various mental issues. Danny just happens to be the most visibly messed up because, not only does he have those issues, but he has no experience navigating the adult world. Bad combination.

He is, kinda. Now imagine what it would be like if your last experience navigating a non-monastic environment was as a 10 year old. I’ve got a ten year old, she thinks the world is far more benign than it actually is, for now. As she gets older and continues to live in this world, she’ll learn the same way we all do.

Yeah, they touched on that when he started asking the kids questions on the Hand compound; he obviously knows how to recognize a cult. It would have been nice to see some follow through there.

Or you know, they could have been playing with the whole PTSD element of watching your parents die and being raised in a magic land that’s nothing like the world you’re used to. That’s what I took out of it, what with the constant flip outs and rainbow camera shake moments.

Yeah, this is how I feel every time I read a story about AIs doing really scary things. Like, did you not watch Terminator?

Um...you’re aware that one of the Robins was flat out killed, also by the Joker? This is why this argument gets tired for people who have read a variety of comics; the people whining about what happened to Barbara seem to have a very short memory when it comes to the treatment of lots of other favorites.

Not in Canada... :)

Is...is that it? Is this what now passes for a recap on this site? What the heck happened?

Agreed, this used to be my go to site for anything genre related. The writing was good, the comment section was interesting, there was even some dabbling in legitimate criticism. Now it’s just...Gawker.

Came here to say this, but you did it better.

ITT shills for Paramount.

“Oh, and that’s Astra’s husband, a newly introduced sidekick who is apparently replacing the sadly missing Faran Tahir.”
