@timgray: I like your list, but I want to add a DVR system, a plug-in/app store concept for the open development of new components, and some sort of system to let me access it from multiple televisions/stream videos to my phone.

@Buddha916: I hate to break it to you, but Alton didn't invent this trick. It's technically a concept used in cheese making since the dawn of, well, cheese.

Combine B-Complex vitamins with a generic caffeine pill to get a poor-man's 5-hour Energy. It's not perfect, but it works really well, even as a workout booster.

I just avoid St. Patrick's day all together.

@jonny6pak: I take some of that back. Koush said it's based on ESE53. It shows a ERE25 fingerprint so that the Market allows DRM apps. I've heard that this still has the MMS issues—I'm not sure what's up with that.

@StuffIGeekWith: No, I didn't consider it, but I am now. In looking at the 6.01 build, it seems to be rock solid. I have to ponder it, but I'm starting to thing that Smoked Glass 6.01 is the way to go. I may install Helix Launcher 2 over top of it, but that would be the only change I might make.

I noticed a number of people talking about wanting Launcher 2. Helix Launcher (and Helix Launcher 2) are out for free on the Android Market. [www.droid-life.com]

@ckcallen: Thanks; I have a couple quick questions. Have you tried the 6.01 update, and if so, does it work well? How is this rom with overclocking?

@TEEDLE: I guess I skipped a step when I said to use nandroid. Watch this [www.youtube.com] . You need to alter the bootloader again and then you take it back to stock.

@TEEDLE: You can always use nandroid to take the device back to stock. Once you do that, Verizon wouldn't know that you ever rooted the thing.

From what I can tell, it's still using the ERE25 base, which would mean MMS doesn't work right. I want to keep my eye on this, but I'm looking at Bugless Best or DroidMod for my first rom install. I just rooted my Droid and got everything prepped yesterday. Hopefully I'll have some time to toy with roms today.

@wes.crockett: Thanks. The how-to video is pretty good.

@Krebor: The soil isn't a problem, it's sunlight. My property is very shaded outside of a few spots in the front yard. I managed to get some herbs and thai chilies to grow, but most anything else was a bust. If I could put a garden on the roof of my house, I would be all set. I might try to experiment with front

@Krebor: I'm jealous. I wish I had good space to garden. Thankfully I do have access to some great local farm produce that usually comes with a high level of quality. I'm also super happy to have found a local cattle rancher/butcher and a poultry farm. I think I get amazing food by simply staying local rather

@Bill Clark: I was really happy to see something presented so well. It was quite insightful. I wish there were more presentations like this in the media.

I need to rant. I understand the point of organic food, but at this point, it seems like it's become a marketing buzz rather than a real effort for healthy living. Yes, there is a subset of the population who use organic food to live a truly healthier life, but many people think that organic automatically means

I hate having them, but I must keep the cards on hand. It seems to be a generational thing. Everyone I encounter in my work under 35 just trades info via a smart phone. Everyone over 35 needs a card. There are exceptions, but that's my take on it.
