They can buy them all they want, they are the reason us enthusiasts can have fun cars. SUV’s = big profits. Those profits are why they can afford to build the lower production fun cars.
SUV’s have their place. Some people need lots of towing capacity. Find another vehicle that can seat 5+ comfortably, and tow 10,000 lbs at highway speed comfortably. I don’t need a full size SUV right now, but if I did it be a Cayenne GTS.

My current car that I’ve had a year in a few weeks, is a stripped out base model. I just added fog lights, since I did not like seeing those sad plastic fakes. I don’t mind it, but I would not buy another stripped out base model car. AC is very nice to have.
This also happens when 1 tire is off my 1.5 psi. Jumping curbs into power lines. A great extreme sport, not for the weak hearted.
That is $10,500 with in inflation today. It probably be closer to $15,000 since Toyota has grown so they have way more over head costs, and consumables.
When Hemi cudas where selling for that people laughed at that price, then they sold for 7 figures.

I’ll correct you. The Viper V10 was originally 5.9 la series V8 with 2 cylinders added on. It was all aluminum, the V10 used in the heavy duty trucks in the late 90's early 2000's was all iron and a difficult casting. So the 8.3L v10 was based off a truck engine at first, but never used in a truck.
