If she did that for show, who was she putting on a show for? She was surrounded by her own, loyal, troops; there was no crowd around for her to play to.Why go through the trouble threatening them with horrible death if they were already following her orders?

I'm seeing Kuvira as more of a Chiang Kai-shek or Park Chung-hee; a military strongman heading an authoritarian government. She already seems to be cultivating the required cult of personality with those snazzy metal uniforms awesome banners with the silver coin thing on them.

I guess it could just be a difference in personal politics and not a full-on estrangement. We all know that of the two, Lin is more of the law and order type. Given how big of a clusterfuck the Earth Kingdom is in the 1st episode, I'd bet Lin would look favorably on just about anyone who brings an end to the chaos.

The more I think about it, the harder a time I'm having with the idea that the main political characters in the show are ignorant of the influence Kuvira possesses. I mean, her supporters picketed Prince Wu's hotel and if Opal and Kai are anything to go by, the Air Nation peacekeepers seem to be wary of them as well.

The key to getting out of the friendzone:

Identity is one of the simplest and yet weirdest things a person has to deal with. I personally identify as a Black American and it took me years for me to figure out why I was so uncomfortable with being called an "African" American. I've never felt particularly African and I've never really been jealous of people

To be pedantic, "thug" is a word that comes from India and referred to organized gang/religious cult of thieves and assassins; it was introduced into the English language by the British. But more to the point of the article, I sometimes get the impression that black people are quicker to think that thug = black than

Top of my list of unappreciated black people: Eugene Jacques Bullard

I think I'm too jaded to believe in Black love.

I see it as another example of Narcisse's pride and massive ego. Remember; at that meeting with the crime lords Joe the Boss called Narcisse "my partner". In that arrangement Narcisse was an equal. When Lucky and Bugsy arrive on behalf of Maranzano, they're making it clear that the doctor is going to be a subordinate;

Yeah, there is that. Honestly, I have no idea how old Tommy was supposed to be in his last appearance.

I think the kid at the end is supposed to be Jimmy's son. He mentions he grew up on a farm, which is where Richard mentioned he was sending Julia and the kid. He's around the right age and to me it kinda sounded like the actor was trying to imitate Michael Pitt's voice.

I'm embarrassed that I didn't even know what the Wobble was until this Asian girl put me on. I was drunk off my ass, but I somehow still managed to hit all the moves at the right time.

Welp, now I have to see this movie.

I can understand that. I think my enjoyment of this plot comes from the fact that, over the last 2 or so seasons- I've come to hate Jax. IMO, he stopped being an anti-hero and became a villain back in season 4; it just really bothered me that despite all of the horrible things he was doing, the show still made him out

I can't agree. I'm really enjoying the fact that Jax is out to murder everything in God's creation, and he's doing it because of a lie he MOTHER told him. Jax and the Sons have spent the entire series running various schemes and have survived due to cunning, knowing more than their opponents, and sheer luck.

Really Musiq? You know I bought Soulstar when it first came out; I was 15 years old. 15 YEARS OLD TAALIB! I had no idea what to do with that album; every girl I knew was still getting loose to ATL and Pretty Ricky.

So what you're saying is….you don't know how similes work.

I really want to be excited about Simone going back to Secret Six, given how much I liked the original series, but I just can't.

What's the point of any of this?
