Mad about Mads?

"A Black Widow movie could be fun, but unless she gets exposed to gamma radiation her movie can't be much bigger then one of the Mission Impossible movies."

I don't think bookstores are getting it until the 12th. Don't comics shops usually get a week or two lead time on bookstores and Amazon?

Comixology sales are never off-topic. Wednesday's Comics Panel and Friday's Big Issues are the A.V. Club's defacto all-purpose comics forum.

I miss those, too. I would try to pick up the slack, but I live in a wildly inconvenient timezone (UTC+9) and I always get to these posts after the commenting has died down.

Just a note that there's still 4 and a half days left on the current Image Comics Humble Bundle (there third overall). This is kind of the least essential one yet for me, but I still went in for the highest tier, this time at least $20.

Rick Burchett's art on the Huntress mini is beautiful. It's criminal that he was pushed out of DC because some editorial idiots hated his art.

I'm getting Hawkeye in OHC, the second of which is out later this month. I'm not sure if 6 and 7 are switched in book 1, but issue 17 certainly is in book two rather than after those issues.

As much as Walbrook's performance here is fantastic as a sort of Svengali/homosocial opposite to Julian, I love his immigration interview monologue about his life since WWI in The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp. Heartbreaking.

I thought the omnibus wasn't out until next year.

Yeah, I use Calibre to convert and sync ebooks for my Kindle Paperwhite. With Comixology, though it's DRM-free backups or no downloadable backups at all. So no DRM to really break. I haven't looked into it to see if there's a surreptitious way to get non-downloadable content from the site. Frankly, it would be easier

I've been doing some horror-focused Shocktober reading. So,

I love Comixology and their sales, but I generally just don't buy anything from companies that don't allow DRM-free backups. So all my Comixology purchases are from Image, Top Shelf, IDW, Oni Press, and Fantagraphics. Although even some things from those companies don't allow it.

I also spend way too much on Image on Comixology (or Humble Bundle)… I picked up Trees vol. 1, Saga vol 4, Up to issue 8 of The Fade Out (it's cheaper to buy the singles than the collections—plus I believe the Brubaker/Phillips style is to have extra content in the singles that's not in the trades), Five Ghosts vol.1,

That was literally Issue 1. Setting the tone. And she was having a baby. I think that's exactly what @udjibbom means about the normal stuff of life.

They even had Steranko doing his pencils over Kirby layouts at the start of that run, didn't they?

I feel the same about Swierczynski. Haven't read his Valiant stuff, but I was disappointed in his issues when he took over Iron Fist from Brubaker/Fraction or Black Widow from Marjorie Liu.

Love those Carl Barks collections. There's a new one out this month: Trick or Treat. Haven't started reading the vol.1 & 2 of the Don Rosa that I bought. Why did you put it on hold?

I only really know who this is because of Julie Klausner's podcast, where she relates some incident where Perrette tried to get Klausner (as a reporter) kicked out of an event.

Use Simple Comic on a Mac with cbr or cbz files.
