Yes. But the WAY the country thinks about what is protecting its citizens will always be down to a cultural heritage. Asian countries take a top down approach that is patriarchal and controlling. Western countries go from the bottom up, where the people decide and won’t be dictated to. The way America does this is

Our country not have been a place for prison drop-offs, has a history and tradition of opposing state-mandated regulation of what we consider our rights.

Maybe but it’s really unfair for this woman to put her social justice hopes and dreams on some random actress who didn’t do anything but make a movie. It’s not Schumer’s responsibility to make change in this country.

I’d say that people who use the term “white trash” are also strong contenders for that title.

Oh, I remember Nelson!

It’s like Comic Sans got drunk on chardonnay and started wearing a cheap pink feather boa.

“Oh for fuck’s sake! Stop trying to make your boring ass babies cool with my last name.”

It is incredibly strange to me how much importance we put on the opinions of celebrities. They are really just normal ass idiots like everyone else who happen to have a particular talent that a lot of people like.

That was my first reaction, honestly. I mean, of course Schumer was horrified and bereft at this insane act but why is she the only one who can suddenly change gun access? Why not the director or any of the other actors in the movie? Hell, LeBron James would be an amazing advocate for gun control but as far as I know

Yeah I actually find it very obnoxious that the writer thinks Amy Schumer owes anyone anything because the shooting happened at a screening of her film. I’m sure she feels bad enough without someone pressuring her about this.

Ok but this person knows gun control is not actually Amy Schumer’s responsibility, right? I guess the more famous people advocating for an issue the better, but like please go berate actual politicians or the NRA. Amy Schumer did not cause this problem and she’s not going to be the one to fix it.

I suppose Schumer’s job is already social commentary but I’d hate for someone to call me out to get involved in a quagmire with a bunch of gun-toting lunatics.

I’m going to give him a pass, because you just can’t hate on a 20+ year crush, but is the Downey tweet a little uncharacteristically douche-y? Intentional?

dad? you read jezebel?

Philistines.

Here is the number #1 (no pun intended) rule of etiquette for multi-stall bathrooms: If you are done with your business and the other door that was shut when you got there is still shut, someone is holding onto their poop for dear life, praying that you will hurry up and leave. Please move along. Hopefully someone

Get back to me when you’re in your 60s. I’m 64 and I’m definitely middle-aged, not old.

Yes, but it’s also worth remembering that Kate Middleton also made this face when meeting Idris Elba, which basically translates to “I’m a half a glass of bad chardonnay away from climbing you like a jungle gym, pal,” and you know, there’s a lot to be said for relatability.

maybe she stays indoors all the time. :-)
