I just pulled one of those apart recently too. Oh. My. God. I kept the three different pumps and the nice silicone tubing, but the rest is going bye-bye. I did find the problem though - cracked lid on the boil pot, so it probably wouldn’t have been fixable even if I hadn’t destroyed it.

You can do things! You just have to start slow and easy to build your confidence. But if you research it, set aside time and a clear work area, and make sure you have what you need—even the weird little specialty doodads that it seems like you could surely manage without—you can do all kinds of things.

I grew up in the Adirondacks; and we had the same issue with raccoons.
