are they really in that price range now? because im totally with you if that’s the case, even sans three pedals

How about a 9th gen Civic Si, specifically 2014-2015? Looks more understated than the 10th gen, and I do prefer the understatedness (boring to some, unfortunately, but still WAY better than the 2012 blandness galore). Car is a bit of an underdog as far as my perception goes compared to the beloved 8th gen Si and that…

Hope what few buyers are not 10 feet underwater underground with their loan

Just tried the Eddie Bauer extra 50% off clearance code EXPLORE50, and while the code successfully ā€œappliesā€, the price of the stuff in my cart didn’t even change, so what gives? :(

I noticed on my 2014 Civic that as long as the headlights are in auto and I have the wipers on, e.g. intermittent on a still bright but drizzly day, the headlights will actually turn on after a set amount of time, so I thought that was nice.

HOW DARE YOU INSULT MY EM1, EP3, FB6, FA5, ETC, ETC, ETC...

  1. People that don’t maintain their cars, specifically people that are oblivious to the fact that their parking/stop/head light is burned out. Bonus points if they decide to start driving with high beams constantly on because their low beams are burned out.

My partner and I just obtained a Fiesta ST for our co-owned vehicle, but he seems to be taking slightly longer than me relearning where reverse is (on the FiST it’s pull the collar, all the way left, then up) versus all previous vehicles we’ve driven (all the way to the right, then down).

Just helping out a fellow jalop - have a nice weekend!

No scooching from what I recall. Pretty much the old filter slid out easily, and then I was able to slide in the new filter just as easily. You didn’t happen to mistakenly put the filter in rotated 90 degrees?

Perhaps it’s a defect with that manufacturer? Just replaced cabin air filter on a 2014 Civic (so same gen as yours), and the new filters (WIX brand) sat perfectly within the housing

2008 Honda Element SC with a 5 speed manual. For some reason, I find myself taking corners harder (but not necessarily faster) and turning traction control off more often in this vehicle than my 9th gen Civic Si sedan. I bought the Element because I wanted something that would be a nice daily for a short commute, and…

Same, planning to use my card as my RealID compliant form of identification for domestic flights, since I just renewed my driver’s license last year and CA only has an extension for RealID until October this year

Thanks for posting! This is a great article to send to my friend, who is very willing to learn how to care for her car that she bought from us. It all started with her wanting a car of her own, and she wanted to learn how to drive manual. Long story short, she bought a 5 spd 2000 Civic EX coupe, learned how to drive…

Also vanishing are hydraulic tappets which made valve adjustments a thing of the past. Many vehicles are being fitted with shim-and-buck designs.

What a gripping thread, but I’ve tread for too long and I must drift back to work
