Great. What else?
Great. What else?
Was that Microsoft’s doing or was it Rare’s?
He didn’t live through the late 90s and early 2000's with Microsoft trying to get rid of every competitor they had and being the only game in town. He should ask WordPerfect and Novell how friendly Microsoft is.
Eh, activision hasn't produced anything decent for years: Diablo 4, OverWatch 2, Call of Duty, all crap. It sucks, but nothing of value is really lost.
This is gonna be disastrous for the entire games industry. There is no way one of the biggest companies buying out another of the biggest companies will be a net positive, it’s going to quickly turn anti-competitive and anti-consumer. But because Microsoft knows exactly what to say and what small concessions to make,…
Yeah this gringo lives in flyoveristan and thinks Taco Bell is mexican.
Except it actually is worse than those previous games in every way except visually. They completely removed exploration from the formula this time for starters.
I’m super glad I cancelled my Amazon pre-order last week after initial impressions were coming from early access players.
Harder to play and also just significantly less joyful. Menuing is not exploration. There is no “ooh whats that over there” impulse except when you’re literally within cities. Something is either placed directly on your lap, or you have to just pick a location from a menu and hope there might be something interesting…
“So we end up where we are with Starfield, a game that visually looks like something from this era, but still plays and operates like a game from 2005"
I’m fine with the same engine and gameplay loop, but they made Starfield harder to play, navigate, and understand compared to their previous games. I was fine playing another Bethesda game, in space, that’s what I wanted and expected, but trying to remember where every shop is, where the trader posts are, and where…
People seem to misuse the word “free” on a regular basis and it’s always been my pet peeve.
Good. We don’t need more monopolies. In the long run it usually doesn’t end well for everyone except the shareholders.
I’m pretty sure their argument is exactly the reason why people don’t want Microsoft taking over more of the videogame market. Because everything original they’ve attempted sucks. And everything that was good they’ve purchased they’ve driven into the ground with bullshit and microtransactions.
Horizon was delayed to avoid crunch as well and that turned out great. God of War a solid Goty contender. Returnal was excellent.
This is painful but our priority is providing shareholders with more zeros in their balance sheets.
this is where you are wrong, artist do studies for a reason to study not sell in mass production. You know the problem for an artist is if they straight up plagiarize? they get blacklisted if they want to work in the animation/film/video game industries. And they can be sued for copyright infringement which happened…
The way that human artists learn to draw and the way that the Stable Diffusion algorithm generates images are fundamentally different. Modern “AI” is still incomparable to actual human intelligence; that’s just a label that researchers put on it to make it seem more advanced than it is, and you’re buying it.
I too can be an absolute dingleberry at times. I also say really stupid things with great confidence.
